Canberra Camp

Grade 6 students have enjoyed their trip to the Nation's Capital. They had the opportunity to experience and participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

On this school camp, students visited Parliament House of Australia, High Court of Australia, Royal Australian Mint, Embassy Drive, National Capital Exhibition, Museum of Australian Democracy, Electoral Education Centre, Australian Institute of Sport, Australian War Memorial, Mount Ainslie Lookout, and had a Twilight Adventure at Australian National Botanical Gardens.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government is contributing funding of $30 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. This rebate was accounted for when pricing this trip and is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
