Book Week- Reading is my Secret Power

On Friday 23rd of August, Torquay College had their Book Week parade. There were plenty of fun and amazing costumes on display, and most importantly fun had by all.

The Year 3 students also had a book activity day on this same day. They got to rotate around throughout the day and work with different teachers in the Year 3 area. Throughout this time they were introduced to many of the 2019 shortlisted books. Students also got to display their creative, artistic side when completing tasks related to these shortlisted books. This day was a fun way to promote the love of reading, and showcase the many great authors we can use as mentors for our own writing.

Torquay College acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, learn and play and recognise the resilience, strength and pride of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We acknowledge the connection to land, waters and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging throughout Australia.
