Our Year Three Writer's & Illustrators

In Year Three, we have been learning about “Writer’s Workshop” each week. During this time each child is an Author and Illustrator of many different types of writing. Our goal is to teach the students to LOVE to write. Students have thought about what they look like as a writer, considering why Writer’s write, what their best writing environment looks like, and topics that are close to their heart that would inspire them to write.

As a part of this process, students will be writing about topics of their choice and interest, that motivate them to write. They have been setting up their own personal “Writer’s Notebook” and are learning how to plant “seeds”, which are personal prompts and ideas that will be the basis of their writing.
