Healthy Heroes Visit Year 3s

This week Year 3 students were fortunate to be visited by Geelong Cats players Jed Bews and Mark Blicavs, for an incursion as part of the Healthy Heroes programme.

Students learnt about aspects of good health and wellbeing, such as physical activity, hydration, sleep and screen time.

Some vital facts from the session were that devices should be switched off at least one hour before bed, screen time (including TV, computer and other device screens) should be limited to a maximum of two hours per day and that people need two serves of fruit and five serves of vegetables for an optimum diet.

Torquay College acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, learn and play and recognise the resilience, strength and pride of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We acknowledge the connection to land, waters and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging throughout Australia.
